Why should I care about my job? Management, my supervisor in particular, don't care about me. I'm just a human resource to be exploited, motivated by the constant threat of losing my paycheck or negative feedback/disciplinary action. The company I work at even penalizes employees for taking time off for medical appointments. Yes, you read correctly, the company penalizes employees for making use of the medical benefits. Why should I care for anything other than my paycheck?

I wonder if this is as much of an issue in Europe, where 4-6 weeks paid vacation time each year is the norm, compared to America's 1-2...
