Links of the Week (Week #2, 2006)
- anti-telemarketing EGBG counterscript - I hate telemarketers almost as much as I hate spam. The only way to stop either of these is to make it unprofitable. In the case of telemarketers you can try to waist their time (much like they are doing for you) by using this flowchart of questions to ask them.
- one red paperclip - This guy started out with one red paper clip that he traded for a fish pen that he traded for a knob that he traded for.... you get the point. His goal is to eventually trade for a house. I wish I had thought of that... maybe I can catch up: anyone what to give me a house for a piece of carpet lint?
- O'Reilly Radar > Digging The Madness of Crowds - Interesting controversy involving unfounded accusations posted to Digg.
- Space propulsion breakthrough: new spacecraft ion engine tested - Every once in a while I see a post on a tech news site something to the effects of "Wow! Look at this. Somebody is developing ion thrusters. The future has finally arrived." The surprising thing is "the future arrived" in 1997.
