Links of the Week (Week #20, 2006)
Very late this week because I was out of town.
- DesMoinesRegister.com - If you do not want to be resuscitated you can tell your family and write a living will but what happens if nobody is around to point the fact out to the emergency room technicians. How about you tattoo it on your sternum?
- DVR viewers skip commercials, hurt advertisers' feelings - Remember in the 90's when companies were paying high dollar for web banner advertisements. That was before they realized that web surfers were very good at ignoring them. Well, now TV advertisers are starting to realize that we just skip over commercials.
- Fare comment! | the Mail on Sunday - Very funny story (with video) of a man confused for a technology expert and interviewed on live TV. Turns out the guy thought it was a job interview.
- Know the ways of the gas cap and the interstate - without looking - Lifehacker - Can you remember which side of the car your gas cap is on? If not just look at your gas gauge.
- LeapFish.com Domain Name Resource Center - According to this website all the domain names I own are worth $8,214.00. Seriously, if that were true I'd sell and put a down payment on a house.
- McDonald's: Baby Ronald | Ads of the World - This is creepy.
- Michael Arrington of Techcrunch.com is a Millionaire! at Okdork.com - This guy makes a $85,000 a month by blogging and I'm not even covering my hosting expenses!
- Prize specimens -These guys solved a puzzle so hard it is nearly impossible for a human to solve and would take millions of years to solve using brute force on a computer.
- Slide_rule.pdf (application/pdf Object) - Make a paper slide rule.
- Why Nagging Doesn't Work - If only I could get my wife to read this.
