Links of the Week (Week #8, 2006)
A little late due to a persistent cough but here it is.
- Aardvark Firefox Extension - Very useful extension for web designers and others. Using this extension you can then press certain keys on the keyboard to do various things, such as deleting an element, isolating the element, or clear an element. Ever been on a page with a float image that interferes with other elements? No you can simply delete it.
- Day2Day Activities: How they named companies - Interesting list of how various companies can up with their names. For example "Cisco- short for San Francisco." or "Google- the name is an intentional misspelling of the word googol"
- der-mo.net _ Moritz Stefaner - CIA factbook data as a interactive bubble graph.
- DevilDucky - The Simpsomaker - Make your own Simpson character.
- panopticist: If You're Nervous and Hungover, Do Not Go on Live TV - This would probably be the result if I were to be on TV.
- Personal and Historical Perspectives of Hans Bethe - Legendary theoretical physicist Hans Bethe delivers three lectures on quantum theory
- PhET - Physics Education Technology - I love physics based games and simulations. Here is a collection of Java based physics simulations form CU-Boulder.
- Photoshop Photo Retouch: Photo Touchup - Learn how to touch up a portrait to make yourself look like a supermodel (or at least less repulsive please). Haven't tired this myself to see how well it works for the non graphics artists among us.
- Teagames.com - Blueprint Game - More physics based games. I can't get enough!
- Welcome to MY world: Top ten reasons Geeks make good fathers - Geeks make good fathers. As a geek father myself I thought this was obvious. Although my wife probably doesn't agree.
