Links of the Week (Week #42, 43, 44)
The only thing I hate more than a desolate blog is a blog full of "sorry I haven't written in so long" apologies. So without any apologies at all I present links of the "week" for week 42, 43, and 44.

- 'Tower of Babel' translator made - In Star Trek every alien spoke English. The show never explained this but the trekkie explanation was that they had real time universal translators. - Ajaxian - Remote Scripting Transport Patent - Remote scripting (RS) is a set of methods that allow a webpage to communicate with the server without reloading the page. In this way a web page can become a lot more interactive. Working in the background to keep the data on the page fresh. RS is now in widespread use across the web. Well, I'd like to now state publicly that I invented remote scripting. Why aren't I rich now? Well, like most things I "invent"... I'm not the first. History has it that RS was first invented in 1996 by MS. Brent Ashley invented a version of RS in 2000. My version in 2001 was definitely not the first. RS is basically a technology discovered almost simultaneously by many web experimentalists trying to push the browser to the edge. Well, it appears that there was one of us that actually applied for a patent. Why didn't I patent it... well, patents are supposed to be non-obvious.
